Breast self-examination is a method that allows you to check your breasts for changes such as a lump or thickening. You will actually look at both of your breasts, and if you notice anything unusual, inform your doctor. Your breasts will move forward; look for changes in their shape or contour. 5- Now bring your hands behind your head and press your hands forward. Again, turn from side to side to observe the outer parts of your breasts. Remember to look underneath them. You may need to lift your breasts with your hand to see underneath them. 6- Check your nipples for any fluid discharge. Place your thumb and index finger on the tissue around the nipple and pull toward the end of the nipple. Look for any type of discharge. Repeat on your other breast as well.
